Halloween was originally called Samhain and marked the end of the harvest season for Celtic farmers.
ResponderEliminarHalloween is a time of celebration and superstition. It is thought to have originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain.. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints and martyrs; the holiday, All Saints’ Day, incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. Over time, Halloween evolved into a secular, community-based event characterized by child-friendly activities such as trick-or-treating.

Halloween is a holiday celebrated in much of the western world, especially in Anglo-Saxon countries, the night of October 31, the eve of All Saints Day (November 1). Its origins date back to the Celts, and the party was exported to the United States by Irish immigrants in the nineteenth century, more or less by 1846. Due to the cultural imperialism of the United States in the world exercised using the marketing of their multinational corporations and Hollywood movies, Halloween has become popular in other countries even though many people still considered an American holiday, especially where ingrained habits have more to this very day.

Halloween (contraction of All Hallows 'Evening), also known as Halloween or All Souls' Night and Bostero back to your country, is a celebration of Bosnian origin celebrated primarily in the United States, northern Mexico, some provinces Canada, Northern Ireland and the UK on the night of October 31. It originated in the Bosnian festival of Samhain and the Christian holiday of All Saints' Day. In large part, is a secular celebration but some feel that has a religious background. Irish immigrants passed versions of the tradition to North America during the Great Irish Famine of 1840.
